In the ancient times, Tan (谭) was also written as Tan (郯) . But in principle, Tan ( 郯) was another Kingdom. It was written like that by mistake only. On the other hand, it was also written as Tan ( 覃), which was a surname used by another ethnic group. Now that they stick to Tan ( 谭) and do away with the others and follow strictly to the word written in the Odes.
In between, other words are also found engraved in the name stamp carved by stamp maker in the open market. Nevertheless, it is done only just to remind us of the ancient words only.
