WRITTEN PROOFS OF FACTS

In Zuo Zhuan Gong 10th year, Ji Hou Zhi ( 齐 候 之) appeared, crossed over to Tan but Tan did not entertain him. Eventually he made his way in and met with warm welcome by regional lords. Tan later came in but met with resistance by Ji and Tan was destroyed by Ji army. Tan Zi escaped to Ju hoping that the latter would entertain him basing on old alliance.

The open edition of ancient surname specifications stated that: The destruction of Tan Zi Kingdom was not announced, because it was not legal. With regard to running away from responsibilities, the King was not killed, because Ji Huan’s treatment for Tan, was just not more than did not entertain him politely. The surname yearly: Ji destroyed Tan, Tan Zi escaped to Ju, thus surname Tan.

Chun Qiu Fan Lu: Ji Huan Gong wanted to use force. Tan resisted and did not want to give in. He destroyed the Kingdom and escaped to Ju.

Cheng Yi: Chun Qiu Tan Zi escaped to Ju. It was told by his Viscounts in order to demoralize Gong. He thus followed what his officials said.

Zhi Yuan: Tan, surname. During Zhou, there was Tan Kingdom. Ji Huan Gong destroyed it. Tan Zi escaped to Ju. Thus, his descendants used the Kingdom’s name as surname.
